Moving Day

One day that I think is the most odd in our culture is moving day. Everyone has a different way of going about this event.

Main Option One: Hiring Movers

1.Pros

a.No heavy labor on your part.

2.Cons

a.Costs money

b.May experience side effects such as surliness and unsightly butt-crackage.

c.Movers don’t care about your stuff. They will fling, toss, and mishandle and then insist any breakage isn’t their fault.

d.You feel like a Grade A wimp for not being able to do this yourself.

Hmm.

Main Option Two: Friends and Family

1. Pros

a. Free - in a certain sense. While decent relations and friends may not demand cash, it is polite to offer a few bucks towards gas. And you should feed them.

b. Trust. Your friends and family are more likely to treat your valuables like they’re actually valuables.

c. At the end of the long day, you can all kick back and enjoy your new place.

2. Cons

a. Your friends and family might be more lazy than hired movers.

b. It’s expected that you help out, too. And might end up as the leader, and therefore delegated the most work.

c. Your friends and family might see a new tyrant side of you.

d. And who knows how many people will actually show up when you need them. Some might just be all talk.

I’m going the second route, and I’m experiencing more cons than pros at the moment. In fact, all cons. And cons, in this case, do not mean conveniences. Can’t I close my eyes and all my stuff will be transported to my new apartment? I mean, how much is that to ask, really?

That’s referring to my need to make many blogs in many places. Who knows what this one will be about. Random life, I guess. I need a gimmick. Someone give me one?
